The North Coast Distance Education School is committed to offering students and home instructors the very best support we can provide. We support our home learners with:

  • All necessary learning resources (i.e. textbooks, workbooks, structured assignments and on line content) specific to an individual’s program.
  • An online library including many interactive CD titles
  • Specials needs and enrichment support
  • Loaner computers, web cams, and microphones as required
  • Loaner tape recorders, microscopes, and other equipment as needed
  • An internet subsidy
  • Educational field trips planned by the school
  • Access to concert series in local schools
  • Individual courses from local schools (maximum of one per semester)
  • Resources to support the individual's learning plan as recommended by teachers in consultation with parents and approved by the school under Board and Ministry policy.
  • Support for third party programs that meet BC’s learning outcomes in P.E., Fine Arts and Personal Planning, align with the Student Learning Plan, and are pre-approved by staff..
    * Full subsidies are available for our full-grade students registered before September 30. Students registering after that date and our grade 10 - 12 students will have their subsidies pro-rated. As of July 1, 2006 parents cannot be directly reimbursed; we will make arrangements with the service provider directly from the school.

Please note that this subsidy program is only available until May 15 of the school year. Please ensure you submit your application for subsidy to your teacher before that date.

Please contact the school for more information.
